Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Diploma in Engineering with relevant EHS certifications.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent EHS certification.

Job description

ROLE
  • Implement EHS policies, procedures, and standards across the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to environmental protection, occupational health, and workplace safety.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards and potential risks.
  • Prioritize employee and visitor health by identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Ensure a safe working environment free from conditions that could cause injury or illness.
  • Address environmental concerns by minimizing the impact of business operations.
  • Conduct and lead regular EHS audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Track and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure.
  • Deliver EHS training programs and awareness campaigns.
  • Train employees on workplace safety protocols and procedures.
  • Foster a proactive culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  • Monitor compliance with EHS standards and requirements.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics and incidents.
  • Improve the competency of EHS team members through periodic training.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of EHS objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional implementation of best practices across facilities.
  • Lead incident investigations and reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Train EHS teams on incident investigation methodologies.
  • Analyze incident trends and recommend proactive measures to reduce future occurrences.
  • Implement environmentally responsible workplace practices.
  • Ensure proper waste management and pollution prevention measures.
  • Monitor environmental performance indicators, including energy usage, waste generation, and water conservation.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and green building practices.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and preparedness plans.
  • Conduct emergency drills and mock exercises as per defined schedules.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities during incidents and crises.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with applicable EHS statutory requirements.
  • Stay updated with changes in environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Develop and maintain compliance management systems and environmental management plans.
  • Ensure employee awareness and training on regulatory requirements.
  • Manage statutory submissions, records, and compliance reporting.
  • Promote employee health, safety, and overall well-being.
  • Support initiatives addressing both physical and mental health concerns.
  • Address employee feedback and safety concerns in a timely manner and implement preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with HR, business teams, and corporate functions to ensure effective EHS implementation.
  • Partner with Facility Managers, City Managers, and IFM EHS leaders to integrate safety into day-to-day operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in EHS programs and processes.
  • Drive corrective actions and best-practice implementation to enhance workplace safety performance.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive a strong safety culture.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian EHS regulations and global best practices.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • OR Diploma in Engineering with relevant EHS certifications.
  • NEBOSH and/or equivalent EHS certification.
  • Minimum 7+ years of EHS experience for Bachelor’s/Master’s degree holders.
  • Minimum 10+ years of EHS experience for Diploma Engineering candidates.
  • Experience in managing EHS operations within commercial buildings, corporate campuses, or large workplace environments is preferred.
  • Proven experience driving EHS compliance and safety programs.
  • Strong auditing and risk assessment expertise.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and corrective action programs.
  • Ability to build partnerships across operations, HR, business, and facility teams.
  • Passion for employee safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
