Agilent Technologies India is seeking an Application Engineer for the OpenLab Sync team. You will work closely with our clients to translate lab requirements into OpenLab Sync workflows, configure the platform, and build plugins that connect instruments or display custom forms.

This role offers travel across labs, a chance to learn new software technologies, and opportunities to influence product design through customer feedback. Strong English and teamwork are essential.

Formación

• University degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Scientific Informatics, or related discipline.
• Hands-on lab experience in analytical chemistry, biobanks, pharma, biopharma, genomics, NGS, academia, etc.
• Experience with LIMS, ELN, LES, SDMS, CDS or lab workflow management systems preferred.
• Knowledge of Java or Python with proven coding skills.
• Experience working with customers, stakeholders, lab users, or cross-functional teams is desirable.
• Full proficiency in English.

OpenLab Sync (formerly SLIMS)

OpenLab Sync is a platform that allows supervision of all stages a sample follows to the result. OpenLab Sync captures information about the sample, requests for measurements, and follows its entire workflow through the lab, supervising manual operating procedures, automated instrument steps, and calculations until the final report.

This role is ideal for candidates who combine hands-on laboratory experience with technical software implementation skills. Successful candidates typically have experience working in laboratory informatics, scientific software, LIMS, ELN, LES, or laboratory automation environments.

As an Application Engineer part of the Customer Success team in India, you will support our valued customers across our Lab informatics product solutions. This role offers you the opportunity to travel and explore a variety of labs, so it is vital to have an appetite for continuously learning about new software technology, instruments, applications, and consumables. In addition, applying communication skills, creativity, and a can-do approach is vital.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Analyze customers' needs and translate them into OpenLab Sync workflows
• Configure the OpenLab Sync platform to match the lab's requirements
• Build plugins for connecting instruments or displaying custom forms or portals
• Act as the customer voice to influence future product design to meet customer needs
• Script a lab's in-silico tools into our integration framework

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals with the following background:

• University Degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Scientific Informatics, or a related discipline (or alternatively solid relevant experience in this application engineering field)
• Hands-on laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, biobanks, pharma, biopharma, genomics, NGS, Academia, etc.
• Preferred experience with LIMS, ELN, LES, SDMS, CDS, laboratory automation, scientific software, or laboratory workflow management systems.
• You have knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python with proven coding skills
• Experience working directly with customers, stakeholders, laboratory users, or cross-functional project teams is highly desirable.
• Full proficiency in English.

You have communication/interpersonal skills to interact at various levels, and you strive to provide excellent customer support. You enjoy both working within a team and autonomously.
