Job summary

Aarvee Engineering seeks a field survey technician to perform topographic, boundary and cadastral surveys. You will lay out control points and levels on-site to guide construction and ensure data accuracy while operating advanced surveying equipment.

Proficiency with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D and knowledge of coordinate systems are essential. You will contribute to data processing, as-built documentation, and earthwork calculations as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Land Surveying from a recognized technical institute.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or other survey software to translate field data into layouts.
• Solid understanding of coordinate systems, datums, leveling techniques and basic survey mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed topographic, boundary and cadastral surveys to establish site dimensions, elevations and existing features.
• Layout control points, benchmarks, gridlines and levels on-site to guide construction and surveying teams.
• Set up, calibrate and operate survey equipment including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS rovers, auto levels and digital theodolites.
• Download and process field data using survey software to generate contour maps, DTMs and cross-sections.
• Perform as-built surveys of completed structures and utilities, comparing against drawings.
• Assist in earthwork quantity calculations based on survey data.

Role & responsibilities

• Field Data Collection: Conduct detailed topographic, boundary, and cadastral surveys to establish exact site dimensions, elevations, and existing features.


• Setting Out & Alignment: Layout precise control points, benchmarks, gridlines, and levels on-site to guide construction, excavation, and structural teams.


• Equipment Operations: Expertly set up, calibrate, and operate advanced survey gear, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS rovers, auto levels, and digital theodolites.


• Data Processing: Download and process raw field data using civil survey software to generate contour maps, digital terrain models (DTMs), and cross-sections.


• As-Built Surveys: Perform final surveys of completed structures and utilities to generate \"as-built\" documentation, checking for discrepancies against construction drawings.


• Quantity Calculation: Help calculate earthwork cut-and-fill volumes and material quantities based on initial and progressive survey data.

Requirements & Technical Skills

• Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Land Surveying from a recognized technical institute.


• Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other survey mapping software to translate field data into technical layouts.
