Job summary

Velciti Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our engineering consultancy team. The role involves carrying out land and engineering surveys, collecting accurate field data, and supporting civil infrastructure projects.

You will conduct land, topographical and construction surveys at project sites, use Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS/GPS, and prepare survey drawings with AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Travel to sites is required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Surveyor to join our engineering consultancy team. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out land and engineering surveys, collecting accurate field data, preparing survey drawings, and supporting civil infrastructure and construction projects.

Role & responsibilities

Conduct land, topographical, engineering and construction surveys at project sites.

• Carry out Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS/GPS and other surveying activities.
• Establish and verify benchmarks, control points, coordinates and reference points.
• Perform topographic surveys, alignment surveys, level surveys and setting-out works.
• Collect and record accurate field measurements and survey data.
• Prepare and maintain survey field books, reports, sketches and related documentation.
• Prepare and check survey drawings and coordinate data using AutoCAD/Civil 3D or relevant software.
• Carry out setting out of roads, buildings, structures, utilities and other civil engineering works.
• Check levels, coordinates, dimensions and alignment as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Consultants, Contractors and other project personnel.
• Assist in quantity measurements and preparation of survey-related data for project requirements.
• Identify discrepancies between actual site conditions and approved drawings and report them to the concerned engineer.
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration and safe handling of surveying instruments.
• Maintain accurate records of survey equipment, observations and measurements.
• Travel to project sites as required and undertake field survey assignments across project locations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good practical knowledge of Total Station and Auto Level.
• Working knowledge of DGPS/GPS surveying will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and preparation of survey drawings.
• Good understanding of civil engineering drawings, levels, coordinates and measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and infrastructure drawings.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a project team.
• Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required.
• Good attention to accuracy and detail.
