Job summary

Galaxy Solar Energy in Solapur, Maharashtra seeks an experienced Project Manager / Site In-Charge with an electrical engineering background to lead ground-mounted solar power projects. Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor ground-mounted solar projects from initiation to commissioning.
• Supervise multiple project sites and coordinate with contractors, vendors and clients.
• Prepare schedules, execution plans, manpower requirements, and resource allocation.
• Ensure on-time completion within approved budgets and quality standards.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Project Manager / Site In-Charge with a strong electrical engineering background and proven experience in executing ground-mounted solar power projects.

The candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and successful commissioning of multiple solar project sites, ensuring timely completion, quality standards, safety compliance, and effective coordination with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and clients.

2. Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Plan, execute, and monitor ground-mounted solar power projects from project initiation to commissioning.
• Handle and supervise multiple project sites simultaneously.
• Prepare project schedules, execution plans, manpower requirements, and resource allocation.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
• Monitor daily site progress and resolve execution-related challenges.

Technical & Electrical Activities

• Supervise electrical installation activities, including DC/AC cabling, HT/LT systems, transformers, inverters, switchyards, and evacuation infrastructure.
• Ensure proper installation of solar modules, mounting structures, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical equipment.
• Review electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Site Management & Coordination

• Manage site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and technicians across multiple locations.
• Coordinate with DISCOM, CEIG, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders wherever required.
• Conduct regular site inspections and review project progress.
• Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and manpower at project sites.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports to management.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and project quality requirements.
• Monitor site work as per approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Implement safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Identify project risks and take corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Track project milestones, budgets, material consumption, and execution timelines.
• Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
• Report project delays, technical issues, and site requirements to senior management.
• Ensure successful project handover after commissioning.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of ground-mounted solar project execution.
• Experience in handling multiple solar project sites simultaneously.
• Excellent project planning and execution skills.
• Strong electrical technical knowledge of solar PV systems.
• Experience in contractor and manpower management.
• Knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, inverters, switchyards, and transmission lines.
• Strong coordination, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, and project reporting.

4. Eligibility Criteria

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 810 years of overall experience in electrical/project execution.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ground-mounted solar projects preferred.
• Must have experience handling multiple project sites.
• Should be willing to travel and work at project locations as per business requirements.
• Candidates with experience in Solar EPC companies will be preferred.
