The Site Incharge / Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day solar project execution activities at residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government project sites. The core purpose is to ensure smooth site installation, manpower coordination, material availability, quality workmanship, safety compliance, timely project completion, and proper reporting from site survey to installation, testing, commissioning, and handover stage.
- Supervise daily solar installation activities at assigned project sites, including structure installation, module mounting, DC/AC cabling, inverter placement, earthing, lightning protection, and net-metering coordination.
- Coordinate with project engineers, technicians, electricians, helpers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution as per approved design, BOQ, layout, and project timeline.
- Check site readiness, material availability, tools, equipment, manpower allocation, access arrangements, and work sequence before starting installation activities.
- Monitor installation quality, workmanship, cable routing, structure alignment, module placement, safety practices, and compliance with technical instructions and company standards.
- Maintain daily site progress reports, attendance records, material consumption details, site photographs, issue logs, pending work status, and installation documentation.
- Identify and report site‑level challenges such as roof access issues, shadowing, structural concerns, civil work dependency, customer‑side delays, DISCOM‑related requirements, and safety risks.
- Support testing, inspection, commissioning, customer handover, service team coordination, and closure of punch points after project completion.
Qualifications
- Primary Education: ITI, Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech preferred in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Solar Energy, or related field.
- Certifications: Training in solar PV installation, rooftop solar systems, electrical safety, work‑at‑height safety, solar project execution, or ESSCI/skill‑based solar training will be an added advantage.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in solar project execution, site supervision, electrical installation, rooftop solar installation, industrial/commercial solar projects, or renewable energy project coordination.
- Basic to good understanding of solar PV systems, solar modules, mounting structures, inverters, DC/AC cabling, earthing, lightning protection, net metering, and commissioning process.
- Ability to read basic site layouts, BOQ, installation drawings, SLDs, cable routes, structure drawings, and project execution instructions.
- Strong manpower coordination, site supervision, customer communication, vendor coordination, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to monitor installation quality, identify site risks, manage daily progress, resolve execution challenges, and elevate technical issues on time.
- Comfortable using WhatsApp, Google Sheets, email, mobile camera, location sharing, daily reporting formats, and project tracking tools.
- Comfort working at heights, visiting rooftops and industrial sites, handling field pressure, maintaining discipline at site, and ensuring safety‑first execution.
