Job summary

HFM Solar Power seeks an Electrical Site Engineer to oversee electrical installation and commissioning for ground-mount solar projects under the PM-KUSUM program. The role requires coordinating with DISCOM, inspectors and contractors to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence at project sites across Uttar Pradesh.

The candidate should have 2–3 years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of solar PV, electrical systems and commissioning processes.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in solar EPC or renewable energy projects preferred.
• Experience with ground-mount solar projects and PM-KUSUM schemes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installation and commissioning for ground-mount solar projects.
• Coordinate solar PV module, DC/AC cabling, inverter, LT/HT panels and related equipment installations.
• Ensure works align with SLDs, drawings, BOQ and project schedules.
• Coordinate with DISCOM, inspectors, consultants, vendors and contractors.
• Monitor cable sizing, routing, earthing and testing; review drawings and schedules.
• Prepare DPRs, testing reports and commissioning documentation; support RA billing and handover.

Position: Electrical Site Engineer – Solar Projects
Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. – Electrical Engineering
Experience: 2–3 Years

Location: Uttar Pradesh / Project Sites

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical installation and commissioning activities for ground-mount solar projects.
• Coordinate execution of:
  • Solar PV module installation
  • DC cable laying and termination
  • AC cable laying and termination
  • Inverter installation and commissioning
  • LT/HT panels and ACDB/DCDB installation
  • Transformer and HT equipment installation
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • SCADA/monitoring systems
  • Metering and grid interconnection works
• Ensure electrical works are executed as per approved SLD, electrical drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project schedule.
• Coordinate with DISCOM, electrical inspectors, consultants, vendors, and contractors for project-related electrical activities.
• Monitor cable sizing, cable routing, termination, earthing, equipment installation, and electrical testing.
• Review and verify SLD, cable schedules, layouts, equipment specifications, and electrical drawings.
• Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including:
  • Insulation Resistance (IR) testing
  • Continuity testing
  • Earthing resistance testing
  • String testing
  • Inverter testing
  • Transformer/HT equipment testing
  • Protection and relay testing
• Coordinate grid synchronization, net metering, and DISCOM-related activities.
• Monitor daily progress and prepare DPR, testing reports, measurement sheets, and commissioning documentation.
• Verify contractor measurements and support RA billing and quantity reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with the Civil Engineer for equipment foundations, cable trenches, inverter foundations, transformer foundations, and other interface requirements.
• Identify technical/site issues and coordinate with the Project Manager and engineering team for timely resolution.
• Support preparation of as-built drawings, test reports, commissioning documents, and project handover documents.
• Travel to multiple project locations in Uttar Pradesh as required.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of solar PV ground-mount electrical systems.
• Knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems, LT/HT systems, solar inverters, transformers, HT panels, ACDB/DCDB, and protection systems.
• Ability to read and understand SLD, electrical layouts, cable schedules, and equipment drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of solar plant earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, and electrical safety.
• Good contractor/vendor coordination and site supervision skills.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites.

Preferred Experience

Candidates having experience in ground-mount solar projects, PM-KUSUM projects, solar EPC, electrical installation, testing & commissioning, or renewable energy projects will be preferred.
