Job summary

Surya International Enterprise is seeking a seasoned Solar EPC Project Engineer to lead end-to-end solar installation projects in India. The role involves planning, execution, and commissioning of rooftop and ground-mounted systems, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will supervise civil, electrical, and structural works, coordinate with vendors and clients, and drive on-site performance verification and handover to operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor solar EPC projects from initiation to commissioning.
• Prepare schedules, execution and deployment plans for timely completion.
• Supervise civil, structural, electrical, mounting, inverter, cabling, and earthing works.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, vendors, contractors, and site teams.
• Monitor progress against timelines, budgets, specs, and quality standards.
• Control project costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and project specs.
• Coordinate approvals, inspections, grid connectivity with authorities.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning and performance verification.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, and prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Conduct regular site visits and review contractor performance.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and MIS.
• Ensure proper documentation of drawings, records, and handover documents.
• Coordinate with O&M for smooth handover and issue resolution.
• Lead project engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor solar EPC projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations, from project initiation to commissioning and handover.
• Prepare project schedules, execution plans, resource allocation plans, and deployment strategies to ensure timely project completion.
• Supervise site execution activities, including civil, structural, electrical, module mounting, inverter installation, cabling, and earthing works.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, vendors, contractors, and site teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and resources.
• Monitor project progress against approved timelines, budgets, technical specifications, and quality standards.
• Manage project costs, control expenses, and ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, machinery, and other resources.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards, statutory requirements, quality procedures, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, government authorities, DISCOMs, and other stakeholders for approvals, inspections, grid connectivity, and project-related clearances.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and performance verification of solar PV systems.
• Identify project risks, resolve site-level technical and operational issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Conduct regular site visits and review contractor performance, work progress, safety practices, and quality of execution.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports, MIS, budget updates, and management review reports.
• Ensure proper documentation of drawings, material records, inspection reports, commissioning certificates, and project handover documents.
• Coordinate with the operations and maintenance team for smooth project handover and resolution of pending issues.
• Lead and manage project engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors to achieve project delivery targets.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, solar EPC execution, and project management.
• Experience in project planning, site execution, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, and grid connectivity.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, project scheduling, cost estimation, and project reporting.
• Strong leadership, client coordination, problem-solving, and team management skills.
