Site Engineer Building Construction
We are looking for a Site Engineer to take responsibility for managing building construction projects from start to finish. The role involves handling day-to-day site activities, coordinating with teams, ensuring quality delivery, and completing projects within the planned time and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Supervision
- Manage end-to-end construction activities from excavation to handover.
- Supervise RCC, structural works, masonry, plastering, flooring, finishing, and other site activities.
- Ensure all works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate and manage labour and subcontractors on site.
Procurement & Cost Control
- Plan and manage material procurement according to site requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track material usage and minimise wastage.
- Maintain cost tracking for materials, labour, subcontractors, and overall project expenditure.
Negotiation & Vendor Management
- Negotiate rates with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Finalise work packages in consultation with management.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and quality.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement and project execution.
Quality Control
- Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship at all stages of construction.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with drawings and relevant standards.
- Identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Minimise rework and maintain quality records.
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Provide regular project updates through WhatsApp and other communication channels.
- Share progress updates, site photos, and key issues regularly.
- Identify site problems and take corrective action or escalated when required.
Planning & Scheduling
- Track project progress against the approved construction programme.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved as planned.
- Monitor labour and material requirements.
- Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain a daily site diary covering activities, manpower, materials, and progress.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Maintain records of material deliveries, quality inspections, measurements, and completed works.
- Maintain proper documentation for project activities and work completion.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all workers follow site safety procedures and requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of building construction from RCC to finishing.
- Good knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Good negotiation and procurement skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and construction reporting.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to take ownership of project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- 0–1 years of experience in building, residential, or civil construction.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
