Job summary

Podar Education Network seeks a Civil Engineer to plan, design and oversee construction and infrastructure projects in Indore. You will manage overall project delivery, ensure compliance with safety standards and coordinate with contractors and the Purchase team.

The role requires proven civil engineering experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and strong leadership and communication skills to guide site teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Civil Engineering or BE Civil.
• Proven working experience in civil engineering.
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design and regulatory approvals.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage, design, develop and maintain construction projects from small to large scale.
• Conduct on-site investigations and analyze maps, reports, tests and drawings.
• Prepare feasibility studies and blueprints satisfying specifications.
• Assess risks, materials and costs; attend pre-bid meetings with vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve emerging problems.
• Oversee staff and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
• Direct construction, operations and maintenance activities at sites.
• Estimate quantities and costs; coordinate with Purchase for materials and BOQ billing.
• Coordinate soil and material tests to assess foundations and strengths.
• Ensure compliance with design, safety and sanitation standards.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To plan, design and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
• Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
• Assess potential risks, materials and costs. Attend Pre bid meetings with vendors and consultants in coordination with Contracts team.
• Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
• Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
• Handle over the resulting structures and services for use.
• Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.
• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
• Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials with Purchase team, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. Billing for the works done as per BOQ, justifications for extra quantities.
• Coordinate for Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.??
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel.

SKILLS:

• BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject. BE Civil
• Proven working experience in civil engineering
• Excellent knowledge of design ?? and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc
• Project management and supervision skills
