Job summary

Oneninesix Hiretech is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, execute, and monitor construction activities on-site at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure work meets drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree or diploma and have 4–8 years of on-site building project experience. The role involves site leadership, QA/QC, and diligent reporting to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have Civil Engineering degree or diploma.
• 4–8 years of site management experience on building projects.
• Ability to read drawings and BOQs and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute civil works as per drawings, BOQs and method statements.
• Supervise daily site activities incl. civil, finishing and services.
• Prepare look-ahead plans and progress reports; coordinate with subcontractors and clients.
• Maintain QA/QC records and ensure compliance with safety norms.
• Measure quantities, prepare RA bills, and maintain site documentation and correspondence.
• Enforce site safety practices and conduct toolbox talks.

The Project Engineer will plan, execute, monitor, and coordinate construction activities on site. The role ensures work is completed per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety norms, while coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Execution & Technical Management

• Execute construction works as per approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and method statements.
• Supervise daily site activities, including civil, finishing, and services works.
• Ensure correct construction methodology and sequence of activities
• Resolve technical issues and provide on-site engineering solutions

Planning & Coordination

• Assist in preparing work schedules, look-ahead plans, and daily progress reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients
• Monitor material requirements and ensure timely procurement at site
• Support planning engineers in tracking progress vs baseline schedules

Quality Control

• Ensure work execution complies with quality standards and approved samples.
• Conduct inspections, check levels, alignments, and measurements
• Coordinate quality checks, mockups, and testing procedures
• Maintain QA/QC records, checklists, and inspection reports

Billing & Documentation

• Measure executed quantities and prepare RA bills
• Maintain measurement books, bar bending schedules, and material reconciliation
• Assist in preparing variation statements and extra item justifications
• Maintain site records, drawings, and correspondence

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce site safety practices and statutory compliance
• Ensure use of PPE and adherence to safety plans
• Assist in conducting toolbox talks and safety audits

Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
• Highlight delays, risks, and corrective actions to the Project Manager
• Support project review meetings with factual data

Required Skills & Qualifications: Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of RCC, finishing, and building construction works
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and BOQs
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards
• Basic knowledge of contracts, billing, and rate analysis

Software Skills

• AutoCAD
• MS Excel, MS Project
• Basic knowledge of ERP / project management software (preferred)

Soft Skills

• Good communication and coordination skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Team-oriented with site leadership capabilities

Preferred Experience

• Experience in residential, commercial, or institutional building projects
• Exposure to high-rise or large-scale construction projects
• Experience with consultants and PMC coordination
