Job summary

Norbulk Shipping, a global shipping company, seeks an experienced and organized Ship Manager to join their team in Noida, India.

The role involves overseeing commercial operations, budgeting, reporting, insurance and compliance, and acting as a member of the Emergency Team. Candidates should have marine industry experience or a CoC Deck/Engineering qualification; management qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience within Marine Industry / Ship Management Company or holder of CoC Deck or Engineering. (Management qualification preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and/or control all matters relating to the commercial operation of the vessel(s) e.g. Instructions to Master, Agents, Cargo Bunkers, etc.
  • Coordinate the preparation of vessel’s detailed annual budget and the subsequent control of the operational costs, ensuring that clients are notified immediately of any actual or potential variation
  • Coordinate the preparation and timely submission to clients of all financial and operational reports required under the management agreement
  • Ensure that clients are immediately advised of any incident or untoward happening likely to affect the performance or profitability of the vessel with special attention being given to any issue which may affect vessel’s freight carrying ability, speed and/or consumption or variations to schedule
  • Ensure that all vessel’s certificates are valid at all times including initial issue and renewal of Insurance Certification as appropriate
  • Review relevant reports submitted by vessels to Danaos
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Team in respect to the allocated vessels
  • To act as alternate Company Security Officer (CSO) for allocated vessels
  • Collate records required for insurance claims from the Operations, Personnel and Accounts Departments
  • Liaise with the adjusters on the preparation and submission of all data relative to claims with Underwriters or P&I Clubs
  • Correspondence with Insurance Brokers, H&M Underwriters and Average
  • Maintaining all records, files for H&M, P&I non-medical and Loss of Hire insurance claims
  • Discuss with Principals and their representatives, claim records, statistics, recovery schedules and any other queries
  • Provide cover for any employee within their department as directed by the Fleet

Job description

A global shipping company, based in the UK is currently seeking an experienced and organised Ship Manager to join their friendly and professional team in their office in Noida, India.

The company caters to clients located across the globe which include, public listed companies, private family controlled shipping interests and government shipping enterprises.

From their formation up until the present day they have maintained a vigorous proactive approach to the shipping industry.

Education and Training:

Experience within Marine Industry / Ship Management Company or holder of CoC Deck or Engineering. (Management qualification preferred) in addition to requirements determined by department head.

The Ship Manager’s duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
