Job summary

Wienerberger in Kunigal, Karnataka seeks a Production Team Leader / Shift Manager to oversee day-to-day production, drive targets safely, efficiently and to quality standards. The role reports to the Plant Manager and focuses on leading the production shift, manpower, attendance, output, KPIs, quality and waste management.

Candidate should have 2+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, FMCG or food, with leadership experience; strong communication,

Responsibilities

• Ensure H&S safety standards are adhered to, communicated effectively and maintained at all times in line with the companys policies and procedures.
• Consult with staff or their elected representatives to identify any health and safety concerns. Raise any near misses or issues and drive actions from these. Carry out accident investigations and risk assessments.
• Ensure optimum production targets, minimum waste and the highest levels of consistent quality, reporting any identified deficiencies. Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPS) and help review and develop when required. Promote lean thinking/PIP+ and actively look for ways to improve your efficiency.
• Ensure that the work area is kept clean and free from obstructions and waste Actively manage, develop and motivate the shift operation to ensure they are capable of delivering their targets and goals. Oversee the various quality checks as specified on the production check list. Ensure adherence to Wienerberger s quality system & standards in accordance with EN ISO 9001.
• Ensure that HR policies and procedures are followed and adhered to, including carrying out disciplinary action where necessary, in conjunction with or following advice from a member of the HR team. Identify future training needs and carry out training for your staff and yourself to assist in the development of a flexible team.
• Ensure all new starters are efficiently inducted and trained. Carry out team briefings and provide relevant feedback.
• Carry out daily GEMBA walks, checking & updating production boards. KPIs H & S audit score Output targets Quality & waste control targets Schedule adherence PIP+ audit score Labor efficiency (overtime, employee attendance) Energy efficiency Work in collaboration with maintenance to help achieve preventative maintenance schedules.

Min exp- 6 yrs

Role-

This is a Production Team Leader / Shift Manager position, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The main responsibility is to manage the day-to-day operations of a production shift and make sure the team achieves its targets safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team, managing manpower and attendance, monitoring production output and KPIs, ensuring health and safety compliance, managing quality and waste, and dealing with production issues or downtime.

The role also involves carrying out root-cause analysis, supporting Lean/continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with Maintenance and Quality teams, conducting team briefings, and identifying training needs.

We are ideally looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, FMCG, food or a similar industry, with some leadership or supervisory experience.
