To ensure reliable and efficient operation of plant mechanical equipment by effectively managing preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and execution of improvement projects.
1. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Handle maintenance of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, agitators, reactors, heat exchangers, centrifuges, filter presses, conveyors, valves and utility equipment.
- Analyze repetitive equipment failures and conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) with appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and monitor maintenance schedules, checklists and equipment history.
- Ensure timely execution of planned maintenance activities and minimize equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with Production, Instrumentation, Electrical, Projects, Safety and Quality teams for maintenance activities.
- Supervise contractors and technicians during maintenance, shutdown and breakdown activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of PTW, LOTO, SOP, PSSR and safety requirements during maintenance activities.
- Plan and execute plant shutdown/turnaround maintenance activities.
- Monitor critical equipment and identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and availability.
- Maintain adequate critical mechanical spares and coordinate with stores/purchase for timely availability.
- Evaluate equipment condition and recommend repair, replacement, modification or upgrading wherever required.
- Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for technical support, equipment inspection, troubleshooting and commissioning.
- Review equipment specifications, drawings, manuals and maintenance procedures.
- Support CAPEX and R&M projects, including technical evaluation, installation, commissioning and handover.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, breakdown history and RCA reports.
- Monitor maintenance cost and support initiatives for cost reduction and energy optimization.
- Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, statutory requirements and safety guidelines.
