Job summary

Zydus Lifesciences is seeking a Sr. Manager / DGM Warehouse & Logistics Operations (Domestic Market) to lead end-to-end warehousing, distribution, transportation, and inventory functions.

The role ensures optimal product availability and service levels, cost-effective logistics, and continuous improvement across the domestic network. The candidate will manage vendor performance, drive DRP planning, and collaborate with Sales, Planning, Finance, and Quality teams to meet service targets and KPIs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, commerce, SCM, logistics or related discipline.
• MBA/PGDM in operations, SCM, or logistics preferred.

Designation & Role - Sr. Manager / DGM Warehouse & Logistics Operations (Domestic Market)

Reporting To:

Head Global Logistics & Distribution

Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage end-to-end warehousing, distribution, transportation, and inventory operations across the domestic market, ensuring optimum product availability, superior customer service levels, cost-effective logistics, efficient order fulfillment, inventory optimization, vendor performance management, and continuous process improvement in pharmaceutical Industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse & Distribution Management

• Lead end-to-end warehousing and distribution operations across domestic market
• Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of Finished Goods (FG) to CFA locations and distribution points.
• Monitor logistics performance through key metrics such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), fill rate, dispatch adherence, and delivery turnaround time.
• Ensure product availability across all stocking locations to support uninterrupted market servicing.
• Select and manage transportation partners for primary and secondary distribution.
• Negotiate freight rates, transportation contracts, and service-level agreements.
• Monitor transporter performance, vehicle availability, transit lead times, and delivery compliance.
• Optimize route planning, vehicle utilization, freight costs, and transportation efficiency.

2. Vendor Management & Commercial Excellence

• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage logistics service providers, warehouse operators, and transport partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost optimization and improved service performance.
• Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and implement corrective and improvement actions.
• Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and agreed service standards.
• Monitor inventory health and ensure optimum stock levels across warehouses, hubs, and CFA locations.
• Manage inventory replenishment through effective DRP (Distribution Requirement Planning) and deployment planning.
• Coordinate with Production, Demand, Planning, Sales, and Commercial teams to achieve targeted service levels.
• Coordinate dispatch planning based on sales forecasts and market demand.
• Maintain high inventory accuracy through adherence to FIFO/FEFO practices and inventory controls.
• Monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, damage control, dispatch turnaround time, and warehouse efficiency.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, and Quality teams.
• Align distribution plans with business demand and market requirements.
• Support new product launches, promotional campaigns, and distribution initiatives.

4. MIS, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Develop logistics dashboards, management reports, and performance scorecards.
• Analyze logistics costs, warehouse productivity, inventory ageing, and service performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, statutory requirements, and quality standards.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Drive digitization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.

Educational Qualification

Experience

• 15 to 25 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical Warehousing, Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain Management.
