Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services is seeking a Senior Surveyor Civil for Nagpur to independently manage surveying, setting-out, levels and land/site surveys for township development, roads and plotting works.

You will work with Project Managers and civil teams to ensure accuracy, maintain benchmarks and produce as-built drawings, while coordinating with contractors and QA/QC for high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant surveying/construction experience.
• Strong Total Station and Auto Level experience.
• Experience with residential township projects preferred.
• Proficiency in reading civil/structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed land and construction surveys using Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS/GPS and other surveying instruments.
• Establish and maintain benchmarks, reference points, grid lines and coordinates across the project.
• Conduct setting-out for buildings, villas, bungalows, roads, drains, utilities, plots, boundary walls and other infrastructure works.
• Check and verify alignment, coordinates, levels, dimensions and elevations as per approved drawings.
• Provide accurate survey support for excavation, foundations, RCC, masonry, finishing and external development works.
• Prepare accurate survey measurements, area calculations and level sheets.
• Assist the Projects/QS team in joint measurements, quantity verification and contractor measurements wherever required.
• Maintain survey records, field books, drawings, coordinates and as-built information.
• Read and interpret civil, structural, architectural and infrastructure drawings.
• Prepare/maintain survey sketches, coordinates, benchmarks, level charts and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors and QA/QC teams.

Position: Senior Surveyor Civil

Reporting To: Project Manager / Head Projects

Job Purpose

To independently manage and execute all surveying, setting-out, levels, measurements and land/site-related survey activities for the township, ensuring accuracy and timely support to civil construction, infrastructure, roads, buildings and plotting works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Survey & Setting-Out

• Carry out detailed land and construction surveys using Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS/GPS and other surveying instruments.
• Establish and maintain benchmarks, reference points, grid lines and coordinates across the project.
• Conduct setting-out for buildings, villas, bungalows, roads, drains, utilities, plots, boundary walls and other infrastructure works.
• Check and verify alignment, coordinates, levels, dimensions and elevations as per approved drawings.

2. Construction Survey

• Provide accurate survey support for excavation, foundations, RCC, masonry, finishing and external development works.
• Conduct plinth, floor, column, slab, road formation and infrastructure level checks.
• Monitor verticality, alignment and levels during construction.
• Identify deviations from approved drawings and immediately report discrepancies to the Project/Construction team.

3. Township & Infrastructure Survey

• Survey and monitor internal roads, storm-water drains, sewerage, water supply, utility corridors, electrical services and other infrastructure.
• Support plotting layouts including plot boundaries, dimensions, road widths and levels.
• Verify site conditions against approved master plans, layout plans and engineering drawings.

4. Measurement & Quantity Support

• Prepare accurate survey measurements, area calculations and level sheets.
• Assist the Projects/QS team in joint measurements, quantity verification and contractor measurements wherever required.
• Maintain survey records, field books, drawings, coordinates and as-built information.

5. Drawing & Documentation

• Read and interpret civil, structural, architectural and infrastructure drawings.
• Prepare/maintain survey sketches, coordinates, benchmarks, level charts and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all survey records are properly documented and updated.

6. Quality & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors and QA/QC teams.
• Ensure surveying activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
• Conduct regular checks to minimise rework arising from incorrect levels, alignment or setting-out.

Key Deliverables / KPIs

• Accuracy of setting-out and levels.
• Timely completion of survey activities as per construction schedule.
• Zero/minimal errors leading to construction rework.
• Accuracy of plot, building and infrastructure measurements.
• Timely identification and reporting of deviations.
• Proper maintenance of survey records, benchmarks and as-built data.
• Effective survey support across multiple township development activities.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.
• Additional certification/course in Land Surveying will be an advantage.

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in surveying/construction, preferably with a real estate developer, EPC/construction company or large township project.
• Experience in residential buildings, township development, infrastructure and plotted layouts preferred.
• Candidates with strong Total Station and Auto Level experience will be preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Total Station and Auto Level.
• Working knowledge of DGPS/GPS surveying.
