Job summary

Balaji Railroad Systems Pvt Ltd in Chennai seeks a senior Survey Lead with extensive experience in railway and highway projects to head survey operations. You will manage survey teams, ensure precise setting-out, track geometry and GIS outputs, and coordinate with design and construction teams while maintaining rigorous records.

Excellent leadership and proficiency with Total Station, DGPS, AutoCAD and Civil 3D are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional surveying experience in large-scale infrastructure.
• 7+ years as Surveyor In-charge on Railway/Highway projects.
• 4+ years in managerial role in a Railway PSU or construction agency.
• Proficiency with modern survey instruments and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and training to junior surveyors.
• Act as primary contact with consultants/clients for survey matters.

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes,standards, and project specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and training tojunior surveyors and field staff.
• Act as the primary point of contact withconsultants/clients for all survey-related matters.

Requirements

Experience Requirements

• Total Professional Experience: Minimum 15 years in surveying, preferably inlarge-scale infrastructure projects.
• Relevant Experience (any one of thefollowing)

At least 7 years’ experience as a Surveyor In-charge handling Railway / Highway projects in a PMC

or Construction Agency.

At least 4 years’ experience in a Manager orhigher position in a Railway PSU engaged in construction

projects, along with 6years’ experience as Surveyor.

• Proficiency in modern survey instruments (TotalStation, DGPS, Auto Level, etc.).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and othersurvey-related software.
• Strong understanding of railway/highwayalignment, curves, gradients, and track geometry.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, andproblem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with international and Indianrailway/highway standards.
