Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to own and drive Backgrind, Laser Groove, and Wafer Sawing processes. You will lead yield improvements, defect reduction, and process optimization using DOE and statistics, while mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

The role requires a strong technical background in semiconductor processing, leadership skills, and a data-driven approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges within a global leader in power and sensor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Materials or semiconductor-related)
• 10+ years in semiconductor with wafer sawing and laser groove experience
• Strong background in SPC, DOE, MSA, Cp/Cpk, FMEA
• Proven problem-solving skills (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) and data-driven decision-making
• Experience leading technicians and mentoring junior engineers

Your role Key responsibilities in your new role

In this role, you will serve as the process owner and technical expert for Backgrind, Laser Groove, and Saw processes, driving process optimization, yield improvement, and defect reduction through data-driven decision-making, DOE, and statistical analysis. You will lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives while coaching and mentoring junior engineers and technicians to enhance team capability and operational excellence.

• Act as the process owner and technical expert
• Independently own and manage the Backgrind, Laser Groove, and Saw processes
• Lead yield and defect improvement projects
• Drive process optimization using DOE and statistical methods
• Lead root cause investigations and technical problem-solving activities
• Make data-driven decisions
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and technicians

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

You strive to take ownership of Wafer Backgrind, Laser Groove, and Wafer Dicing/Saw processes while serving as the key technical expert for manufacturing operations. You drive yield improvement and process optimization through data-driven decision-making, advanced statistical analysis, and technical leadership to achieve quality, cost, delivery, and productivity objectives.

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Materials Engineering, and other semiconductor related areas)
• Minimum 10 years experience in semiconductor with an experience in Wafer Sawing and Laser Groove process will be preferable
• To have background in Statistical & Quality Tools (SPC, DOE, MSA, Cp/Cpk analysis, FMEA and etc.)
• To have background in Problem-Solving Skills (8D methodology , 5 Why Analysis, Fish Bond Diagram, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive action)
• To have background in Data Analysis Skills (JMP, Mini Tab, Advance Excel and Yield Analysi s)
• To have soft skill of lead technicians and junior engineers , mentor and coach team members, drive technical discussions
