Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead Digital Twin and Advanced Process Control initiatives across semiconductor manufacturing. You will leverage data from equipment, process, and quality sources to drive predictive maintenance and self-healing capabilities, while collaborating with diverse teams to deploy scalable, high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, digital manufacturing, process engineering or APC.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital Twin, APC, FDC, and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with data-driven optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, KNIME, or MATLAB for data analytics and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and deployment of Digital Twin, APC, and analytics to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Drive data-driven decision making using equipment, process, and quality data.
  • Design predictive, adaptive, and closed-loop control strategies using APC and Digital Twins.
  • Develop self-healing manufacturing capabilities via automated detection, diagnosis, and correction.
  • Integrate Digital Twin and analytics with MES, APC, FDC, and automation platforms.
  • Collaborate with Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and Data Engineering teams.
  • Monitor performance, validate models, and drive continuous yield and throughput improvements.
  • Head or participate in digitalization and smart manufacturing projects from concept to deployment.

Key responsibilities in your new role
  • lead the development and deployment of Digital Twin, Advanced Process Control (APC), and advanced analytics solutions to enhance manufacturing performance, process stability, and operational excellence.
  • leverage equipment, process, and quality data to drive data-driven decision-making, implement predictive and self-healing manufacturing capabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable smart manufacturing solutions that improve yield, quality, throughput, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Develop and deploy Digital Twin and APC solutions to improve manufacturing performance and process stability.
  • Analyze equipment, process, and quality data to identify improvement opportunities and support data-driven decision making.
  • Design predictive, adaptive, and closed-loop control strategies using APC, Digital Twins, FDC, and advanced analytics.
  • Lead the team in the development of self-healing manufacturing capabilities through automated detection, diagnosis, and correction of process deviations.
  • Integrate Digital Twin and analytics solutions with manufacturing systems, including MES, APC, FDC, maintenance, and automation platforms.
  • Lead or collaborate with Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, IT, and Data Engineering teams to develop and implement scalable solutions.
  • Monitor solution performance, validate models, and drive continuous improvement in yield, throughput, cycle time, quality, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Lead or participate in digitalization, smart manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects from concept through deployment.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to enhance factory productivity, reliability, and operational excellence.
Your profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed: You strive to apply your expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, digitalization, advanced process control, and data analytics to drive process optimization, equipment reliability, and operational excellence. You excel in leveraging Digital Twin, APC, FDC, predictive maintenance, and AI/ML-driven solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable improvements in productivity, quality, and manufacturing performance.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, digital manufacturing, process engineering, equipment engineering, Advanced Process Control (APC), equipment reliability, or related fields.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor backend assembly and test processes, including die attach, wire bonding, and molding.
  • Experience in Digital Twin, APC, Fault Detection & Classification (FDC), equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and manufacturing analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of process control, statistical analysis, data-driven optimization, AI/ML applications, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, KNIME, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analytics, ETL, model development, and automation.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment communication standards (SECS/GEM, EDA), industrial automation, Industrial IoT (IIoT), equipment integration, and factory systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
