Job summary

Jobtailor in India is seeking a senior Java microservices engineer to design and build scalable cloud-native services. The role involves Java Spring Boot, React/Node frontend work, and Kafka-based backend integration.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, observability dashboards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on supply chain capabilities. The position requires substantial experience and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
5.5 to 10 years of experience building cloud-based, highly resilient and scalable systems.
Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and frameworks: Java 17/21, Spring Boot, microservices, REST API, Kafka, relational and NoSQL databases, React, and Node.js.
Understanding of software fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, problem solving, and Agile principles.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
Experience with containerization ecosystems such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience calling and integrating ML inference APIs.
Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and provide technical solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building.
Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area, OR 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Master's degree and cybersecurity project leadership experience listed as preferred.
Cisco certification listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable, resilient Java-based microservices on WCNP/Kubernetes.
Develop full-stack features using React, Node, and Express.js with RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
Build microservices using domain-driven design, event-driven patterns with Kafka, and API-first principles.
Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Own CI/CD pipelines using Concord, KITT, and Looper.
Set up observability dashboards and alerts and participate in on-call rotations.
Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams on supply chain capabilities.
Lead application technology-stack upgrades and platform design adoption.
Maintain structured logging and Prometheus/Grafana metrics.
Identify and propose improvements to development workflows and supply chain processes.
Adopt and advocate for AI coding tools such as Wibey.
Troubleshoot complex problems in a high-impact environment.
