About Team:

As part of Walmart Global Tech's Supply Chain Platforms within US OMNI AND PLATFORMS TECH, the Atlas team plays a critical role in powering Walmart's supply chain — ensuring products move efficiently from suppliers to stores and to customers' hands. We build intelligent, high-throughput platforms that handle inventory management, demand sensing, order fulfillment, and logistics orchestration at Walmart scale. We innovate to lower the operational cost, provide greater value to the business and build the best in class experience to our Business Partners and Customers.

What you will do:

• Design & Build scalable, resilient Java-based microservices deployed on Walmart Cloud Native Platform (WCNP/Kubernetes).
• Develop Full-Stack Features using modern frontend frameworks (React, Node and Express JS) integrated with RESTful/GraphQL APIs
• Build Microservices with domain-driven design, event-driven patterns (Kafka), and API-first principles.
• Design with a platform-first mindset — designing shared and extensible capabilities that empower multiple teams to move faster without duplicating effort.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities — embed ML model inference, feature pipelines, or GenAI features into production services.
• Lead Technical Design Reviews and mentor junior engineers across the team.
• Own CI/CD pipelines using Concord, KITT, and Looper, ensuring reliable deployments to production.
• Ensure Operational Excellence — set up observability (dashboards, alerts) and participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to deliver impactful supply chain capabilities.
• Lead application tech stack upgrades and adoption of platform design solutions at a faster pace.
• Maintain high standards for observability — structured logging and metrics (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Champion a culture of continuous innovation — actively identify and propose improvements to development workflows, and supply chain processes that reduce friction and create measurable business value.
• Actively adopt and advocate for AI coding tools like Wibey to accelerate feature delivery, reduce cycle time, and improve code quality across the team.
• Able to troubleshooting complex problems quickly and efficiently in a high-impact environment.

What you will bring:

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5.5 years - 10 years of relevant experience in building cloud based highly resilient and scalable systems.
• Sound technical knowledge in Object Oriented Programming and Frameworks – Java 17/21, Spring boot, Microservices, Rest API, Kafka, relational & NoSQL databases, React and Node JS.
• Good understanding of Software Fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms, Problem Solving and Agile Principles.

• Strong exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Azure, GCP, or AWS and containerisation ecosystem such as Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience in calling and integrating ML inference APIs.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and provide technical solutions to fix those issues.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AI/ML Exposure - Integrating ML model APIs / inference endpoints into production services; experience with GenAI tool adoptions.
• Good working experience and functional understanding in Supply Chain / e-commerce domain.
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimise systems and tools.
