Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Java backend engineer to design, develop, test and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices for high-throughput workloads.

Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA to deliver reliable services. You will optimize performance, implement CI/CD and observability, and participate in Agile sprint planning and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related area with 2 years’ software engineering experience, or 4 years’ experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, OOP, and backend development
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA, Redis, and SQL databases
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerized environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern software engineering practices
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience optimizing application performance and identifying system bottlenecks
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders

Responsibilities
