Job summary

SHIFTIX is expanding its service team in India, seeking a Service Engineer to install, commission, and maintain electric material handling equipment across client sites.

You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults, perform RCA, and prepare detailed service reports while ensuring high customer satisfaction and uptime. A diploma/degree in engineering or an ITI with MHE exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands-on service experience with electric MHE (forklifts, reach trucks, pallet trucks).
• Experience with brands like HELI, STILL, Toyota, Jungheinrich, Linde, Crown, Yale, Doosan, Hyundai preferred.
• Diploma or degree in mechanical/electrical/automotive/mechatronics or ITI with relevant MHE exposure.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, PM, and service electric MHE to maximize uptime.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults; perform RCA.
• Prepare service reports, maintain machine history, and assist customers.
• Identify parts, promote AMC/parts, and coordinate with teams for timely closure.

Role Purpose

The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, breakdown servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of electric Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems while ensuring maximum equipment uptime and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Service

• Carry out installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance (PM), and breakdown servicing of electric Material Handling Equipment.
  
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as per company standards.
  
• Attend customer breakdown calls and ensure timely resolution to minimize equipment downtime.
  
• Conduct equipment inspections and recommend preventive actions to improve machine reliability.
  

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
  
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
  
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, controllers, lithium-ion batteries, BMS, chargers, sensors, wiring harnesses, CAN communication systems, and safety components.
  
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals for effective troubleshooting.
  

Customer Support & Documentation

• Prepare detailed service reports, including fault findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
  
• Coordinate with customers to ensure timely service completion and high customer satisfaction.
  
• Support warranty claim investigations with technical reports, photographs, and root cause analysis.
  
• Maintain accurate service records, machine history, and maintenance documentation.
  

Spare Parts & After-Sales Support

• Identify spare parts using parts catalogues and EPC software.
  
• Recommend and promote genuine spare parts, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), repairs, and value-added service solutions.
  
• Convince customers to place spare parts orders and ensure timely follow-up.
  
• Coordinate with the service and spare parts teams for timely parts availability and service closure.
  

Candidate Profile

Experience

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in servicing electric forklifts, reach trucks, pallet trucks, stackers, and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  
• Experience with brands such as HELI, STILL, Toyota, Jungheinrich, Linde, Crown, Yale, Doosan, Hyundai, or equivalent MHE brands is preferred.
