Job summary

The Closing Gap is seeking an experienced L3 Server Engineer to join the infrastructure team for client-site deployment. You will serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure issues, ensuring uptime, stability, security and performance in enterprise environments.

You will advance from L2 to L3 in a growth‑oriented role, with opportunities to lead disaster recovery planning, manage Hyper-V and SAN environments, and support VB/.NET applications on Windows Server platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of core server experience with enterprise environments.
• Final escalation point for critical Windows Server issues and outages.
• Experience with Hyper-V clusters and virtualization.
• Proficient in managing SQL and Oracle server environments.
• Experience with VB/.NET-based applications.
• Disaster recovery planning, backups, and restore validation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the final escalation point for critical Windows Server outages and performance issues.
• Administer Hyper-V clusters and virtual machine environments end-to-end.
• Ensure SAN storage performance and high availability (Netgear preferred).
• Maintain server infrastructure for SQL and Oracle databases.
• Provide server-side support for VB/.NET applications.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and testing of restores.
• Manage physical server hardware (HP, Dell, Cisco).
• Implement security hardening and patch management.
• Monitor and suggest improvements for uptime and reliability.

This role acts as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure issues and plays a key role in ensuring uptime, stability, security, and performance of enterprise environments.

This is not just a support role—you will go beyond tickets and maintenance to become a key driver of infrastructure reliability. The position offers strong growth opportunities for high-performing L2 engineers ready to step into an L3 role.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the final escalation point for critical Windows Server (2019/2022) outages and performance issues.

Perform end-to-end administration of Hyper-V clusters and virtual machine environments.

Ensure efficient operation of SAN storage (Netgear preferred) with high availability and optimal performance.

Maintain and support server infrastructure for SQL and Oracle database environments.

Provide server-side support for enterprise applications built on VB and .NET frameworks.

Lead disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and regular restoration testing.

Manage and maintain physical server infrastructure (HP, Dell, Cisco).

Implement security hardening, patch management, and compliance best practices.

Proactively monitor infrastructure health and recommend improvements for better stability and performance.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Strong expertise in Windows Server 2019/2022 troubleshooting and administration

Hands-on experience with Hyper-V clusters and virtualization

Experience supporting SQL and Oracle server environments

Server-side application support (VB / .NET based applications)
