Job summary

Neurealm in Chennai seeks a highly skilled L3 Wintel Engineer to provide advanced support, administration, and troubleshooting for enterprise Windows infrastructure environments. The role focuses on core Microsoft services, AD, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms.

You will manage Windows Server estates (2012–2022), perform RCA on escalations, implement security hardening, and contribute to DR planning. Strong problem-solving and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in Wintel infrastructure and enterprise environments.
• Strong Windows Server administration expertise with 2012/2016/2019/2022.
• Deep knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy management.
• Hands-on experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-site enterprise problems.
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
• Experience in production support (24x7) and incident RCA.

Responsibilities

• Windows Server Administration: install/configure/maintain Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022).
• AD Management: manage AD, GPOs, OU structures, trusts, replication, and schema upgrades.
• DNS & DHCP: configure/manage DNS, DHCP scopes, failover, reservations, and resolution.
• VMware vSphere & Hyper-V: manage ESXi/vCenter, cluster provisioning, live migrations.
• Backup & DR: implement/monitor backups and conduct DR testing.
• Monitoring & Automation: use monitoring tools and develop PowerShell scripts.
• Documentation & Compliance: maintain infrastructure docs and ITIL-aligned processes.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Wintel Engineer to provide advanced support, administration, and troubleshooting for enterprise Windows infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Active Directory, core Microsoft services, and virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and experience handling complex escalations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Windows Server Administration

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022).

Perform system health checks, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.

Handle Level 3 incident management and root cause analysis (RCA).

Implement security hardening and compliance standards.

2. Active Directory (AD) Management

Manage and maintain Active Directory infrastructure.

Administer Group Policies (GPO), OU structures, trusts, and replication.

Perform AD schema updates, forest/domain functional level upgrades.

Troubleshoot authentication, replication, and domain controller issues.

3. DNS & DHCP Administration

Configure and manage Domain Name System (DNS) services.

Administer Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) scopes, failover, and reservations.

Troubleshoot name resolution and IP allocation issues.

Maintain DNS zone records and ensure high availability.

Manage and support VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter).

Provision and maintain virtual machines, templates, snapshots, and clusters.

Support Microsoft Hyper-V environments including clustering and live migration.

Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.

Troubleshoot storage, compute, and network integration issues.

5. Backup & Disaster Recovery

Implement and monitor backup strategies.

Perform restoration and DR testing.

Participate in BCP and DR drills.

6. Monitoring & Automation

Use monitoring tools for system performance and availability.

Develop PowerShell scripts for automation and administration tasks.

7. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure and changes.

Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.

Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12 to 15 years of experience in Wintel infrastructure support.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration.
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex enterprise infrastructure issues.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
• Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS).
• Experience in production support (24x7 environment preferred).
