Job summary

Mobileum in Bengaluru is hiring SDETs to design, build, and maintain automated tests for its telecom products. You will write high-quality automation code across UI/API/E2E layers and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with developers and the SDET Tech Lead, translate telecom roaming requirements into test scenarios, and contribute to reducing flakiness while improving coverage and reliability.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech., ME/M.Tech or MSc in CS/EC/Electronics/Engineering or MCA is required.
• 5-8 years of experience in test automation / SDET roles.
• Hands-on with UI/API/E2E automation across cloud-native systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated tests across UI, API, integration, and E2E layers.
• Extend and maintain shared automation frameworks and utilities.
• Create reliable regression suites and reduce test flakiness.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI) and manage test environments (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).

About the Job:

We are hiring SDETs to design, build, and maintain automated tests for Mobileum's telecom products. You will write high-quality automation code, expand coverage across UI/API/E2E layers, integrate tests into CI/CD, and help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of complex, cloud-native systems.

This is a coding-centric quality role you'll build automation as engineering assets and partner closely with developers and your Technical Lead.

Roles & Responsibility:

Test Automation

• Design and build automated tests across UI, API, integration, and E2E layers.
• Contribute to and extend shared automation frameworks and utilities.
• Create and maintain reliable regression suites; drive down flakiness.

Quality Engineering

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and data validation testing.
• Write clear, reproducible defect reports with strong root-cause analysis.
• Validate service behavior, API contracts, and data integrity in distributed systems.

CI/CD Integration

• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
• Support shift-left testing and automated quality gates.
• Help maintain test environments (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).

Collaboration

• Work with developers, the SDET Tech Lead, and DevOps to build in testability.
• Translate telecom/roaming requirements into concrete test scenarios. Continuously improve coverage based on production and pre-production findings.

Desired Profile:

Programming & Frameworks

• Proficient in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress; TestNG/PyTest.
• API testing: RestAssured / Postman.

Engineering Practices

• CI/CD integration and Git-based workflows.
• Understanding of SDLC, test design techniques, and quality metrics.
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes for test environments.

Telecom Domain

• Familiarity with telecom/roaming data and protocols (GTP, Diameter, SS7) or strong willingness to ramp.
• CDR/SDR/TAP validation exposure a plus.

Technical skills:

• Strong programming and automation framework experience.
• Solid debugging skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and a collaborative, ownership mindset.

Good to have:

• Performance/load testing exposure (JMeter, k6, Gatling).
• Big data pipeline testing (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
• OpenShift/Kubernetes and cloud-native testing.
• Roaming analytics / telecom product QE background.

• Work Experience: 5-8 years in test automation / SDET roles

• Educational Qualification: BE. / B.Tech., M.E./M.Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering / MCA
