Job summary

Mobileum is seeking a Backend Software Engineer with ~4 years of experience to own end-to-end features and fixes in complex systems.

You will work with Core Java, Linux, and databases (RDBMS and NoSQL) in a fast-paced telecom analytics context, collaborating with QE and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable backend components.

We are looking for a backend Software Engineer with ~4 years of experience who can take end-to-end ownership of features and defect fixes in complex systems. The role requires strong Core Java, solid Linux debugging skills, and hands-on experience with RDBMS + NoSQL databases. The engineer will contribute to building reliable backend components, improving quality through testing and reviews, and working closely with QE and cross-functional teams. Telecom/5G exposure is good to have, but not mandatorystrong learning ability and adaptability are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver backend features and defect fixes end-to-end: requirement understanding design approach implementation testing QE handoff release support.
• Build and maintain Java backend components with focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Perform detailed debugging and troubleshooting using Linux tools and application logs; identify root causes and implement preventive fixes.
• Work with databases: design and optimize queries/schema changes for RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle) implement and query NoSQL stores (e.g., MongoDB/Cassandra/Redis) based on use cases.
• Ensure engineering quality by:
• writing unit tests and supporting integration testing
• doing peer code reviews and following pre-merge quality checks
• conducting RCA for escaped defects and improving future quality.
• Collaborate with QE, product, and documentation teams to clarify acceptance criteria, improve testability, and support stable releases.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning with realistic estimates and predictable delivery.

Skill Set:

Mandatory skills:

• 4+ years of software development experience in backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (OOP, collections, concurrency fundamentals, exception handling, memory basics).
• Strong Linux skills (shell usage, process/thread analysis basics, file/log operations, debugging in runtime environments).
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with atleast one of the below types of database: RDBMS concepts (transactions, indexing, joins, query optimization) at least one NoSQL database (document/column/key-value) and its trade-offs.
• Experience with code reviews, version control (Git), and working in CI/CD-based development workflows.
• Good debugging, problem-solving, and ownership mindset (ability to work independently and close tasks fully).
• Exposure to Telecom protocols domain.
• Strong communication: clear status updates, early risk escalation, and effective collaboration.

• Demonstrated customer-facing roles and experience.

Desirable skills:

• General network protocols and principles, including web services, XML/RPC schemes and simple TCP socket protocols
• GSM and LTE protocols
• Exposure to 5G concepts (basic understanding of 5G architecture, 3GPP awareness, or telecom protocol-based debugging).
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, HTTP\\HTTPS protocols, and API documentation standards (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Experience with test automation practices (JUnit, integration testing, mocking frameworks).
• Familiarity with observability tooling (metrics/tracing/log aggregation) and production support practices.
• Database design and database performance / tuning issues
• Experience in building and designing microservices and cloud native applications.

Work Experience:

• 4 years+ experience on Java Programming.

Educational Qualification:
