Responsibilities

• Setting global policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines related to all aspects of technology development for the respective teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with leaders of various functions across the organization, the person should have strong interpersonal skills and should demonstrate the ability to provide insights and information at both the strategic and tactical levels.
• Build the engineering team, development process, and necessary technologies to deliver on the vision.
• Develop budgets and business cases to support investments.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on‑time, within scope and within budget.
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Work with Engineering Managers globally on resource availability and allocation.
• Work on priorities as set by product management – providing scope options, date/effort estimates etc. to build an agreed plan and then deliver to those plans.
• Work with the Engineering PMO team to track and report on T&M BU projects into overall Engineering reports.
• Report to SVP of Engineering and escalate to management as needed.
• Assist, guide and motivate team members in the BU that perform engineering functions in support of product development.
• Define and review objective and training plans for direct reports.

Skill Set

• At least 5+ years of experience in building and managing software engineering teams.
• 5+ years of hands‑on programming experience in Java.
• Well familiar with Big Data technologies – Spark, Hadoop, Mahout, Pig, Hive, HBase, Sqoop, Zookeeper, Ambari, and MapReduce. Knowledge on Kafka, Apache Druid and object store would be preferred.
• Strong knowledge on distributed computing, parallel processing, in‑memory computation and scalable fault‑tolerant platform architecture.
• Knowledge on cloud native environments including AWS/Google Cloud/​Azure/Red hat Open Shift is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of Spark’s and Trino (Presto) performance tuning and optimization techniques is must.
• Experience of telecom domain, GSM, 4G network and signaling system, etc is preferred.
• Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies.
• Well familiar with Business Intelligence and Data warehousing concepts.
• Hands‑on experience of ingestion, enrichment and mining of unstructured data is desirable.

Work Experience

20+ years of industry experience preferably in analytics product development.

Educational Qualification

BE./ B.Tech., M.E./M. Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science or any related qualification.
