Roles & Responsibilities Channel Sales / Business Development
1. Dealer & Channel Development
- Identify, appoint, onboard, and develop dealers, sub-dealers, and retail partners in assigned territories.
- Expand the distribution and retail network to achieve business growth objectives.
- Develop strong relationships with channel partners and ensure long-term business engagement.
- Monitor dealer performance and support partners in achieving their sales targets.
2. Primary & Secondary Sales
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary and secondary sales targets.
- Drive product availability and sales through dealers, sub-dealers, and retailers.
- Monitor secondary sales movement and identify opportunities to improve market penetration.
- Ensure effective product distribution and stock availability across the assigned territory.
3. Market Expansion
- Identify new markets, territories, retailers, and business opportunities.
- Conduct extensive market visits to develop new customers and strengthen existing relationships.
- Develop territory-wise sales plans and execute market expansion initiatives.
- Ensure adequate market coverage and improve brand/product visibility.
4. Collection & Credit Management
- Follow up with dealers and channel partners for outstanding payments and collections.
- Monitor dealer credit limits and payment schedules.
- Coordinate with the finance team to resolve payment and account-related issues.
- Ensure collections are achieved within agreed credit terms.
5. Retailer & Mechanic Engagement
- Conduct regular retailer meets, dealer meets, mechanic engagement programs, and product awareness activities.
- Build strong relationships with retailers and mechanics to improve product recommendation and sales.
- Organize product demonstrations, training programs, and engagement activities.
- Gather feedback from retailers, mechanics, and customers to improve business performance.
6. Local Promotions & Market Activation
- Plan and execute local promotional activities to increase product visibility and sales.
- Coordinate with dealers and retailers for local marketing initiatives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities and provide feedback to management.
- Support brand-building activities within the assigned territory.
7. Competitor & Market Intelligence
- Regularly monitor competitor pricing, products, schemes, promotions, distribution, and market activities.
- Collect market intelligence from dealers, retailers, mechanics, and customers.
- Provide timely market feedback and recommend appropriate business actions.
- Identify emerging market trends and potential business opportunities.
8. Sales Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain accurate sales, dealer, retailer, collection, and market-visit records.
- Update sales activities through mobile sales applications and reporting tools.
- Prepare regular sales and market reports using MS Excel and other reporting systems.
- Analyze sales performance against targets and take corrective actions where required.
9. Customer & Channel Relationship Management
- Develop strong professional relationships with dealers, sub-dealers, retailers, mechanics, and key customers.
- Resolve channel-related issues and ensure timely communication.
- Support channel partners with product information, schemes, promotions, and business requirements.
- Ensure high levels of customer and dealer satisfaction.
10. Field Sales & Territory Management
- Undertake regular field travel and extensive market visits as per the approved sales plan.
- Ensure effective territory coverage and productivity.
- Work independently to achieve assigned business objectives.
- Demonstrate a self-motivated, result-oriented, and entrepreneurial approach to market development.
