Job summary

Hill International, Inc. seeks a senior quantity professional in Chennai to perform quantity take-offs for civil, structural and architectural works, using IS 1200 and related standards.

You will leverage Cost-X and AutoCAD to prepare BOQs, support cost planning, and assist tendering processes. You will validate Bills of Quantities, contribute to cost reporting and cashflow forecasting, and ensure accurate cost control through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Civil, Structure, Architectural works using IS 1200, POMI or other similar standards.
• Use software tools (Cost-X) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans with bulk checks.
• Draft or validate Bills of Quantities with bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation by identifying basic material and labour rates and rate analysis for standard items.
• Understand tendering processes and documentation.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations and manage change control processes.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, variations valuation and final accounts.
• Apply construction technologies in cost planning and assess material/labour costs during design/execution.
• Proficiency in CAD, Cost-X and other quantification software; strong MS Excel/Word skills.

Undertake quantity works for Building projects - Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fitout, Industry / warehouse (depending on project requirement)

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Civil, Structure, Architectural works using IS 1200, POMI or other similar standards.
  
• Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans including carrying out bulk checks.
  
• Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities including carrying out bulk checks.
  
• Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labour rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items.
  
• Having basic understanding on tendering process and documentation.
  
• Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes.
  
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts.
  
• Apply working knowledge of construction technologies and methods in cost planning tasks. Assess cost implications of materials, labour and construction methods during design and execution stages.
  
• Should be good in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.
  
• Good skills on MS excel and word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software.

Qualifications

Qualification- Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience with building projects
