Job summary

Lumax Industries is seeking a procurement professional to manage end-to-end Purchase & Supplier Management for its production units. The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted availability of wiring harness components, driving supplier development, and cost optimization.

Key tasks include negotiating terms, handling shortages, coordinating with PPC/Engineering/Quality, and leading supplier meetings to resolve supply-related actions. Experience with PPAP/APQP is advantageous.

Job description

Role Objective:

The person will be responsible for managing end-to-end Purchase & Supplier Management activities for both plants, ensuring uninterrupted availability of wiring harness components & controlling commercial/cost-related aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement of complete wiring harness components
• Ensure 100% material availability as per customer production schedules and internal production plans.
• Strong experience in handling supplier shortages, line-stop risks, emergency requirements and recovery plans.
• Daily monitoring of critical shortages & coordination with suppliers for immediate recovery.
• Supplier development, evaluation & performance improvement.
• Develop alternate suppliers / sources for critical harness components.
• Negotiate price, MOQ, lead time, payment terms and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Drive cost reduction, VA/VE, localization and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Monitor supplier capacity, tooling availability, lead time, inventory & delivery performance.
• Coordinate with PPC, Engineering, Quality, Stores, Production and Logistics for material planning and availability.
• Support new product development, new supplier development and new project sourcing activities.
• Experience in managing engineering changes, BOM changes, new part development and supplier readiness.
• Coordinate with suppliers for PPAP/APQP requirements, sample development and approval in coordination with Quality/Engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive customer requirements and production schedules.
• Handle critical customer escalations related to material shortages and supplier delivery failures.
• Prepare and review supplier MIS, shortage reports, delivery performance and recovery plans.
• Lead supplier meetings and ensure closure of pending commercial and supply-related actions.
