Copia Hr Services is seeking a Senior Purchase Manager for a well-established manufacturing and engineering organisation in India. You will own sourcing strategy, supplier development, commercial negotiation, cost reduction and supply continuity, reporting to Management/Director.

You will lead strategic sourcing, commodity management (sheet metal, zinc, copper, brass, hardware, packaging), cost optimisation, supplier development, planning, SAP/ERP procurement and leadership of the team across

Qualifications

• 10+ years in purchase or strategic sourcing in manufacturing or engineering.
• Direct buying across the commodity basket, with fasteners, copper, brass or zinc a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of costing (ZBC or should-cost) and of part processes such as forging, machining, plating and galvanising.
• Experience leading a team and managing multi-category spend.
• Engineering degree, MBA or supply chain qualification preferred, not mandatory.

Responsabilités

• Strategic sourcing: build category strategies and long-term agreements with critical suppliers.
• Commodity management: manage sheet metal, zinc, copper, brass, hardware and fasteners, packaging, engineering components and consumables.
• Cost optimisation: deliver annual savings targets through negotiation, VA/VE, should-cost and benchmarking.
• Supplier development: qualify, audit and develop suppliers, with alternate sources for critical items.
• Supply continuity and planning: keep material flowing against MRP and production plans, and control inventory and working capital.
• ERP and MIS: run procurement in SAP/ERP and present spend, savings and PPV analysis to senior management.
• Leadership: lead and mentor the purchase team and partner with Production, Quality, Engineering and Finance.
• Import (where applicable): overseas sourcing, landed cost and customs coordination.

About the role

A well-established manufacturing and engineering organisation is hiring a Senior Purchase Manager to lead its procurement function, reporting to Management / Director. You will own sourcing strategy, supplier development, commercial negotiation, cost reduction and supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing: build category strategies and long-term agreements with critical suppliers. Drive total cost of ownership.
• Commodity management: manage sheet metal, zinc, copper, brass, hardware and fasteners, packaging, engineering components and consumables. Track commodity prices, build cost models and evaluate alternate materials and sources.
• Cost optimisation: deliver annual savings targets through negotiation, VA/VE, should-cost and benchmarking.
• Supplier development: qualify, audit and develop suppliers, with alternate sources for critical items.
• Supply continuity and planning: keep material flowing against MRP and production plans, and control inventory and working capital.
• ERP and MIS: run procurement in SAP/ERP and present spend, savings and PPV analysis to senior management.
• Leadership: lead and mentor the purchase team and partner with Production, Quality, Engineering and Finance.

Candidate profile
