Job summary

Gpsprocurement in Tamil Nadu, India, seeks an experienced procurement professional to drive supplier development, quoting, and global project support. The role emphasizes direct commodity sourcing, PPAP coordination, and timely delivery of development milestones.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across plants and business units, manage supplier strategies, and ensure quality and cost targets. Significant travel across India is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BE Mech).
• 10–12 years of experience in procurement, sourcing operations, and supply chain.
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, casting, forging and assembly processes.
• Experience with Direct Commodity sourcing, NPI exposure, global shared services, and supporting manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional inspection.
• Experience in supplier development and project coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Willingness to travel for supplier development across India.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of development of PDC /Sheet metal/ Machined / Forging / Rubber & Plastic Injection moulded components, quickly support for proto samples etc.
• Handle commercial-related settlements with suppliers and ensure timely closure.
• Support global projects involving multiple plants, commodities, and business units.
• Work with Sourcing Manager on Supplier strategies to related categories and ensure execution.
• Co-ordinate with Customers for all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for child Parts.
• Follow-up for development timeline. (Release of drawing/Get quote/regular visit at vendor/meet development timeline).
• Detailed knowledge of all PPAP documentation and co-ordinate for PPAP clearance with QA for new parts.
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines and Excellent business ethics and integrity.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing activities.
• Support supplier sourcing, RFQs, quotation evaluation, and supplier selection activities.
• Track sourcing deliverables and ensure alignment with project timelines.
• Analyse supplier quotations, cost structures, market trends, and commercial data.
• Act as a key interface between the sourcing operations team and global procurement stakeholders.
• Define, monitor, and report operational KPIs.
