Position: PLC Programmer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced PLC Programmer to join our Industrial Automation team. The role involves PLC programming, machine commissioning, troubleshooting, and automation support at customer sites.

This is a field-intensive position, with approximately 95% of the working time spent at customer/project sites. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel and working at different industrial locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
• Program and configure PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Work with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, and Delta.
• Configure and integrate VFDs, sensors, actuators, and other automation devices.
• Perform PLC I/O checking, machine testing, commissioning, and startup.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, communication, and field wiring issues.
• Read and understand electrical drawings, control panel drawings, and I/O lists.
• Handle machine commissioning and automation troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
• Perform PLC program backup, restoration, modifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, electrical teams, panel wiring teams, and project engineers during commissioning.
• Provide technical support during machine breakdowns and automation-related issues.
• Prepare commissioning reports, program backups, and other required project documentation.

Site & Travel Requirements

• 95% of the role involves visiting customer/project sites.
• Frequent travel to industrial locations is required.
• Candidate should be comfortable working at customer premises and project sites.
• Willingness to travel for commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and project execution is mandatory.
• Site work may involve extended working hours depending on project and commissioning requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, EEE, ECE, or Instrumentation.
• Strong practical knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFD systems.
• Experience in machine commissioning and field troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical and control panel drawings.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively is mandatory.
