Job summary

Pune Instrumentation Private Limited (PIPL) is seeking a Design & Engineering Engineer (Mechanical) to lead product design, development, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. You will coordinate with internal teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with requirements.

Responsibilities cover from concept to documentation, design validation, and field support, with extensive travel to sites and customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4+ years in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and creating manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple engineering activities.
• Willingness to travel extensively for site visits and field trials.

Responsibilities

• Develop product concepts, engineering layouts, and detailed designs based on project requirements.
• Prepare and review 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, design validation, and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing teams to optimize design for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
• Participate in prototype development, assembly, testing, and design verification activities.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, inspection, testing, and field trials.
• Identify design improvements and implement corrective actions based on test results and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Maintain and update engineering documents, design records, and revision-controlled data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project management for timely project execution.
• Continuously improve product performance, reliability, and engineering processes.
• Ensure project milestones and engineering deliverables are completed within timelines.
• Travel to customer locations, vendor facilities, and project sites as required for technical discussions, reviews, and field trials.

Qualifications & Skills Required

1. 1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. 2. Minimum 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
3. 3. Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling (SolidWorks) and engineering drawings.
4. 4. Experience in product design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support.
5. 5. Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards.
6. 6. Experience in hydraulic systems will be an added advantage.
7. 7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering calculation skills.
8. 8. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple engineering activities.
9. 9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
