Job description

Job Description:

• Work within a team of Engineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products. This includes all steps within a formal product development process
• Apply scientific/engineering principals in the design of machines
• Execution of conceptual and detail design - 3D modeling of parts and assemblies
• Optimize design based on manufacturing processes (DFM), assembly and test
• Sizing and selection of components (motors, sensors, bearings, gearbox, pneumatic and hydraulic components, etc) as well as material selection and application of design standards
• Perform calculations and analysis (structural FEA, thermal, dynamics, tolerance stack-up, etc..)
• Detailed drawings and application of GD&T
• Formal report writing and presentations to team members and management
• Work with team members in the validation of new designs (design and build of test stands, writing of test plans, analysis of test results, etc..)
• Contribute in design review meetings and brainstorming sessions
• Design risk mitigation including participation or facilitation of FMEA
• Contribute in a fast paced design environment
• Work closely with multidisciplinary experts Analysis, Electrical, Software, Fluid Power, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Validation/Test

Education:

• Bachelors degree in engineering
