Job summary

Biotech is seeking a Sr. Executive/AM level in ophthalmic marketing to implement national promotional strategies and drive in-clinic activities across assigned markets in India.

You will coordinate CME/RTM events, manage KOL programs, and mentor a small team while collaborating with MARCOM and sales to strengthen brand positioning and customer engagement. The role involves extensive travel and requires strong presentation and budgeting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong ophthalmology-focused marketing knowledge including surgical/pharma.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute national/regional scientific promotional activities (CME, RTM, live surgeries).
  • Experience in identifying and managing KOL/FOL relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership of small teams (1–2 members).
  • Proven capability to create and deliver professional presentations.
  • Experience participating in national/state congresses.
  • Knowledge of in-clinic activities (CTP, FOCUS, branding).
  • Budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Mentoring capabilities and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute zonal and national marketing plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Organize CMEs, RTMs, Live Surgeries, Symposiums and scientific meetings.
  • Evaluate ROI of promotional activities through metrics and conversions.
  • Coordinate with MARCOM for social media content and testimonials.

Role Objective:
  • The key objective of this role is to support the implementation of national marketing strategies and execute in-clinic promotional activities to strengthen brand positioning and customer engagement in assigned markets. The role focuses on the effective execution of product promotion initiatives, the coordination of training programs, and the facilitation of scientific engagements in alignment with guidance from the National Marketing Manager. The position will work closely with the sales team and key stakeholders to enhance customer development, support KOL engagement and ensure smooth execution of marketing plans while contributing to business growth through innovative and impactful marketing activities.
Desired Candidate Profile:
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in surgical/pharma ophthalmology.
  • Proven expertise in conducting national and regional scientific promotional activities such as CME, RTM, live surgeries and symposiums.
  • Experience in KOL/FOL development and management.
  • Prior experience in handling a team of 1 to 2 members.
  • Proficiency in making and delivering professional presentations.
  • Experience in national and state-level congress participation.
  • Sound knowledge of in-clinic activities such as CTP, FOCUS and branding exercises.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Demonstrated mentoring capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
Promotional & Scientific Activities:
  • Develop and execute zonal and national-level marketing plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Organize CMEs, RTMs, Live Surgeries, Paper Presentations, Symposiums and scientific meetings.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of promotional activities through user conversion and upgrades.
  • Coordinate with MARCOM for social media content generation, including testimonial recordings.
KOL/FOL Development:
  • Identify, develop and engage KOLs/FOLs for scientific and promotional programs.
  • Facilitate speaker engagements and product evaluations to strengthen clinical credibility.
Congress Participation:
  • Represent the organization at national and state-level congresses.
  • Coordinate booth design, logistics, vendor management and marketing collateral for events.
In-Clinic Activities:
  • Conduct in-clinic branding and training to promote the premium product range.
  • Develop and update content for FOCUS, CTP and other in-clinic programs.
Budgeting & Financial Control:
  • Prepare, monitor and report on budgets for promotional activities.
  • Ensure timely processing of payment requests and adherence to IO limits.
  • Collaborate with MARCOM/PMT teams to develop and update marketing presentations.
  • Gather and report competitor activities for strategic planning and market positioning.
  • Guide, mentor and monitor the performance of the marketing team.
  • Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Training & Development:
  • Conduct quarterly meetings and training sessions for the marketing team in coordination with PMT.
  • Mentor team members to enhance their clinical and marketing capabilities.
Functional Skills Required:
