Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Marine & Coastal Engineer to join our Chennai team. You will work with an international group to deliver complex marine structure projects, applying your expertise in design, analysis and codes of practice.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in civil/structural/marine engineering with 10–15 years of marine structural experience, and is proficient in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, SACS and AutoCAD, with good knowledge of API, DNV and Eurocode standards.

• 10–15 years of marine structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and SACS.
• Experience with AutoCAD for drafting.
• Strong knowledge of API, DNV, and Eurocode standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations, modeling, and finite element analysis for marine structures.
• Develop design drawings, specifications, and technical reports per international codes.
• Lead feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed engineering phases.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineers for integrated solutions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators to clarify technical requirements.
• Ensure designs meet safety and environmental standards; support project managers to deliver on time and budget.

The Role

As a Senior Marine & Coastal Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc….

• Should be able to perform structural calculations, modeling, and finite element analysis for marine structures.
• Develop design drawings, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with international codes and standards.
• Experience in feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed engineering phases.
• Work closely with geotechnical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure integrated solutions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to clarify technical requirements.
• Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and sustainability standards.Support project managers in delivering engineering solutions on time and within budget.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attribute.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, Structural, or Marine Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in marine structural engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, SACS).
• Familiarity with drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV, Eurocode).
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
