Job summary

Worley, a global professional services company, is seeking a Marine & Coastal Designer Level I in Chennai. You will work with our existing team to deliver projects for clients while developing your CAD skills and marine design experience.

The role involves creating precise 2D drawings, interpreting sketches, and coordinating with engineers and project managers to ensure design intent is met. BIM tools familiarity is preferred, and collaboration within a diverse team is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil with CAD proficiency.
• 5–15 years of experience in marine structures.
• Strong technical knowledge to produce drawings per standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into precise drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs and stakeholders to ensure drawings meet design intent.
• Prepare layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed views for construction or fabrication.

The Role

As a Marine & Coastal Designer Level I with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Should be able to develop 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation.


• Must be able to Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into precise technical drawings.


• To collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure drawings meet design intent.


• To prepare layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed views for construction or fabrication.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil with proficiency in CAD software. (Autocad, Microstation etc).


• 5-15 years of experience in marine structures.


• Strong technical knowledge for producing drawings as per standards and practices.


• Good communication and work effectively in a team environment.


• Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, S3D , E3D).
