Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior SAP Retail Functional Consultant to support and deliver end-to-end SAP Retail solutions for a complex convenience-store and retail environment. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, process owners, technical teams, and third‑party partners to translate retail business requirements into scalable SAP solutions. The role requires strong knowledge of end-to-end SAP Retail business processes, including merchandise management, procurement, inventory, replenishment, pricing, promotions, sales, distribution, master data, and integration with store and external retail systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead functional design and implementation of end-to-end SAP Retail solutions.
• Analyse current retail business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and SAP optimisation.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and prioritise requirements.
• Translate business requirements into SAP functional specifications, solution designs, and configuration. Configure and support SAP Retail functionality across merchandise, procurement, inventory, replenishment, pricing, promotions, and sales processes.
• Design and validateend-to-end retail processes from product creation and assortment through procurement, distribution, store operations, sales, and inventory management.
• Support integration between SAP and POS, store systems, warehouse/DC systems, e-commerce, finance, supply chain, and third‑party applications.
• Work on retail master data including articles/products, sites/stores, vendors, merchandise categories, assortments, pricing conditions, and related master‑data structures.
• Support retail purchasing, allocation, replenishment, stock transfers, goods movements, and inventory processes.
• Analyse and resolve functional issues, production incidents, defects, and business‑process gaps.
• Prepare functional specifications for technical development, interfaces, reports, enhancements, forms, and integrations.
• Coordinate with ABAP, integration, data, testing, and infrastructure teams to deliver functional solutions.
• Lead or support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect management, and production validation.
• Provide impact analysis for SAP changes, enhancements, releases, and new retail initiatives.
• Support cutover, deployment, hypercare, and post‑production stabilisation.
• Mentor junior functional consultants and provide functional leadership across assigned workstreams.

SAP Retail Functional Scope:

• Strong end-to-end understanding of SAP Retail / Merchandise Management Article/Product Master DataSite and Store Master DataMerchandise Categories and Hierarchies
• Assortment Management, Retail Purchasing and Procurement, Vendor Management, Purchase Orders and Goods Receipts, Inventory Management, Stock Transfers and Goods Movements Replenishment Allocation Pricing and Price Changes, Promotions and Promotion Planning; Sales and POS Integration Distribution Centre / Warehouse Integration Store Operations Inventory Adjustments and Stock Counts Retail Sales and Revenue Processes Returns and Reverse Logistics
• SAP FI/CO integration; SAP MM integration; SAP SD integration; SAP EWM/WMS integration where applicable
• POS and third‑party system integration Data migration and retail master‑data governance
• Senior-Level Expectations Demonstrated experience delivering SAP Retail implementations, rollouts, upgrades, or transformation programs.
• Ability to own functional workstreams independently from requirements through production.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes and the operational realities of high-volume, multi-store convenience retail.
• Ability to work across business, functional, technical, and integration teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience preparing functional designs and leading solution discussions.
• Ability to challenge requirements and recommend standard SAP solutions where appropriate.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or traditional SAP delivery environments.
• Ability to mentor consultants and provide functional leadership.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in convenience retail, grocery, fuel & convenience, franchise retail, or high‑volume multi‑store environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Retail and integration with modern retail platforms, POS systems, e-commerce, warehouse systems, and external applications would be advantageous.

Note: The ideal candidate is a Senior SAP Retail functional professional who combines deep SAP knowledge with practical retail‑process expertise. They should be comfortable engaging with business users at store, merchandising, supply‑chain, finance, and corporate levels while also working closely with SAP technical and integration teams. Experience supporting a large‑scale retailer with a high number of stores, large transaction volumes, complex assortments, frequent pricing and promotional changes, and integrated POS/store systems, would be particularly relevant.
