Job summary

Colorshine Coated Pvt Ltd is seeking a Buyer – Mechanical / Electrical, Repairs & Instrumentation / Services, Purchase Executive to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of electrical, instrumentation, automation, maintenance spares, and plant-related services for uninterrupted steel plant operations.

You will handle vendor management, commercial negotiations, and compliance, coordinating with Production, Maintenance, Stores, and Finance to support production and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics engineering or diploma.
• 5–8 years procurement experience in electrical, instrumentation, maintenance spares, repairs, or services.

Responsibilities

• Procure electrical, instrumentation, automation, and maintenance spare parts as per approved requisitions.
• Source motors, drives, PLC components, sensors, cables, switchgear, MCC panels, VFDs, relays, contactors, and related items.
• Float enquiries, obtain quotations, compare offers, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Issue Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate procurement and repair services for motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, compressors, cranes, and other plant equipment.
• Monitor repair turnaround times and outsourced job completion.
• Manage procurement of AMC, calibration, fabrication works, manpower contracts, and utility services.

Job Summary:

The Buyer – Mechanical / Electrical, Repairs & Instrumentation / Services, Purchase Executive is responsible for the timely and cost-effective procurement of electrical, instrumentation, automation, maintenance spares, repair materials, and plant-related services required for uninterrupted operations of the steel manufacturing plant. The role focuses on vendor management, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, procurement compliance, and ensuring the availability of critical materials and services to support production and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management

• Procure electrical, instrumentation, automation, and maintenance spare parts as per approved purchase requisitions.
• Source materials such as motors, drives, PLC components, sensors, transmitters, cables, switchgears, MCC panels, VFDs, relays, contactors, and other plant maintenance items.
• Float enquiries, obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery commitments.
• Issue Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Repairs & Maintenance Procurement

• Coordinate procurement and repair services for motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, compressors, cranes, and other plant equipment.
• Monitor repair turnaround time and ensure timely completion of outsourced repair jobs.
• Support maintenance teams in sourcing critical spares and emergency requirements.

Services Procurement

• Manage procurement of services including Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), calibration services, electrical and instrumentation maintenance, fabrication works, manpower contracts, utility services, and other plant-related service requirements.
• Evaluate service providers and negotiate commercial and contractual terms.

Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base for electrical, instrumentation, and service requirements.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Identify and develop alternate sources for critical materials and services.

Cost Control & Compliance

• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve cost savings and value optimization.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and records accurately.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, Stores, and Finance departments for effective procurement planning and execution.
• Track pending purchase orders and expedite urgent requirements to avoid operational disruptions.

• Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and automation components used in steel manufacturing plants.
• Understanding of maintenance spares, repair processes, and industrial service procurement.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and contract management.

Educational Qualification:

• 5–8 minimum years of experience in procurement of electrical, instrumentation, maintenance spares, repairs, and industrial services in Iron & Steel, Metals, Manufacturing, or Process Industries.
