Job summary

Surelock Plastics is seeking a seasoned Purchase Executive to lead procurement of engineering spare parts, mechanical components and industrial equipment. You will handle sourcing, vendor development, negotiations and ensure timely availability of materials at competitive prices.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in sourcing engineering spares, reading BOMs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to manage purchase orders and supplier performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain vendor network and monitor performance.

Job Summary:-

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Executive with strong technical knowledge and expertise in the procurement of engineering spare parts, mechanical components, industrial equipment and maintenance-related materials. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vendor development, negotiation, purchase planning and ensuring timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Handle end-to-end procurement of engineering spare parts, mechanical and industrial components.
• Identify and source reliable suppliers for engineering and maintenance requirements.
• Understand technical specifications, drawings, BOMs and engineering requirements before initiating procurement.
• Procure items such as bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, seals, fasteners, valves, pumps, motors, electrical components, pneumatic/hydraulic parts and other industrial spares.
• Source OEM, equivalent and alternative components based on technical requirements and availability.
• Prepare and send RFQs to suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
• Compare quotations based on price, quality, technical specifications, delivery period and payment terms.
• Negotiate with suppliers for the best price, quality, credit terms and delivery schedules.Develop and maintain a strong network of approved vendors, OEMs and local suppliers.
• Coordinate with the Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores and Accounts teams to understand material requirements.
• Ensure timely placement of purchase orders and follow up with suppliers until material delivery.
• Monitor pending orders and ensure on-time delivery of critical engineering spare parts.
• Evaluate and develop new vendors based on quality, capability, pricing and delivery performance.
• Maintain proper records of purchase orders, quotations, vendor details and procurement documentation.
• Handle urgent and breakdown-related procurement requirements on priority.
• Verify received materials against purchase orders, specifications and required quality standards in coordination with the concerned departments.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, alternate sourcing and inventory optimization.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels for critical and frequently used engineering spare parts.
• Resolve supplier-related issues concerning quality, quantity, specifications and delivery delays.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approved purchasing procedures.
• Prepare regular MIS and procurement reports related to purchases, savings, pending orders and vendor performance.

Required Skills

• Strong technical understanding of engineering spare parts and industrial components.
• Hands-on experience in procurement/purchasing of engineering and maintenance spares.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Engineering / Bcom qualification with relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement.
• Proven experience in sourcing engineering spare parts and industrial components.
• Candidates with experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial equipment or maintenance procurement will be preferred.
• Should have strong knowledge of vendor identification, technical evaluation, price negotiation and cost-effective sourcing.
