Job summary

Evonik India in Thane seeks a Senior Executive - Lab Technologist to drive lubricant testing and optimization in the Oil Additives business line. You will work with a global R&D team and internal stakeholders to ensure formulations meet specifications and quality standards.

This role requires a chemistry background and 2–3 years of relevant industry experience, with hands-on lab work, data reporting, and adherence to EH S guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant experience to perform lab testing and reporting.
• Knowledge of formulations and product specifications.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance
• Conduct lab testing to measure properties of formulated oil
• Prepare summarized reports and data presentations for stakeholders
• Maintain lab notebooks, test protocols and reports
• Coordinate with 3rd party labs and global R&D
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
• Participate in lab audits and round robin tests
• Follow EHS guidelines for lab testing and chemical handling

Key Responsibilities

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance
• Conduct necessary lab testing to measure physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the formulated lubricating oil
• Prepare summarized test reports and data presentation for communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks, test protocols and test reports
• Coordination with 3rd party lab and global R&D team as and when required
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records
• Perform routine calibration, performance check and preventive maintenance of lab equipment
• Participate in lab audits and round robin test programs as and when necessary
• Follow EHS guidelines related to lab testing, chemical handling and waste disposal

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.

Technical & Operational Knowledge

• Knowledge of product specifications, formulations, and testing methodologies across relevant product segments.
• Understanding of internal interfaces and cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with workshop operations, ordering processes, and facility management.
• Ability to support technical projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
