Job summary

Evonik India in Thane seeks a Senior Executive - Lab Technologist to lead lubricants blend optimization, perform essential lab testing, and prepare summarized reports for communication with internal and external stakeholders.

You will maintain lab notebooks, calibrate equipment, coordinate with third-party labs and global R&D, and ensure compliance with EHS guidelines while supporting audits and test programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of lubricant formulations and testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance.
• Conduct lab testing to measure properties of lubricating oil.
• Prepare summarized test reports and data presentation for stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks, test protocols and reports.
• Coordinate with 3rd party labs and global R&D.
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Participate in lab audits and round robin test programs.
• Follow EHS guidelines for lab testing and waste disposal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance
• Conduct necessary lab testing to measure physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the formulated lubricating oil
• Prepare summarized test reports and data presentation for communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks, test protocols and test reports
• Coordination with 3rd party lab and global R&D team as and when required
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records
• Perform routine calibration, performance check and preventive maintenance of lab equipment
• Participate in lab audits and round robin test programs as and when necessary
• Follow EHS guidelines related to lab testing, chemical handling and waste disposal

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.

Technical & Operational Knowledge

• Knowledge of product specifications, formulations, and testing methodologies across relevant product segments.
• Understanding of internal interfaces and cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with workshop operations, ordering processes, and facility management.
• Ability to support technical projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
