Job summary

Evonik India in Thane is seeking a Senior Executive - Lab Technologist to join our Oil Additives team. You will drive lubricants blend optimization and perform lab testing to measure physical, chemical and mechanical properties of formulated oils.

You will prepare concise reports for internal and external stakeholders and maintain rigorous lab records. Role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 2–3 years of relevant experience, familiarity with testing methodologies, calibration, and

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of product specifications, formulations, and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance.
• Conduct lab testing to measure properties of formulated lubricating oil.
• Prepare summarized test reports and data presentation for stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks, test protocols and calibration records.
• Coordinate with 3rd party lab and global R&D teams as required.
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance of lab equipment.
• Participate in lab audits and adhere to EHS guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform lubricants blend optimization studies to achieve desired performance
• Conduct necessary lab testing to measure physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the formulated lubricating oil
• Prepare summarized test reports and data presentation for communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks, test protocols and test reports
• Coordination with 3rd party lab and global R&D team as and when required
• Create and update SOPs, test methods and calibration records
• Perform routine calibration, performance check and preventive maintenance of lab equipment
• Participate in lab audits and round robin test programs as and when necessary
• Follow EHS guidelines related to lab testing, chemical handling and waste disposal

Education & Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering. Minimum 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.

Technical & Operational Knowledge

Knowledge of product specifications, formulations, and testing methodologies across relevant product segments. Understanding of internal interfaces and cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with workshop operations, ordering processes, and facility management. Ability to support technical projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
