Job summary

ATMA AUTOTECH designs and develops Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and automation systems for diverse customers. The role focuses on independent design of SPMs, fixtures, and customized machinery as per project requirements.

You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and layouts while applying GD&T and engineering standards. Collaboration with production and vendors ensures smooth design execution and on-time releases.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing SPMs and automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Ability to drive design from concept to commissioning.
• Experience with fabrication, welding and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine concepts and complete SPM mechanical designs.
• Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, layouts, and BOMs.
• Perform design calculations and select suitable mechanical components.
• Design mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, pneumatic systems, and material-handling arrangements.
• Apply GD&T, tolerances, fits, and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and vendors for design execution.
• Review drawings for manufacturability, assembly, safety, and cost optimization.
• Support machine assembly, trials, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Make design modifications based on machine performance and customer feedback.
• Ensure timely release of drawings and engineering documents.
• Guide junior engineers/designers on technical design activities.
• Identify opportunities for design standardization and cost reduction.

• Strong hands‑on experience in SPM Automation Machine Design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks/ Creo/ Solid edge
• Good knowledge of machine mechanisms, pneumatics, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, linear guides, and motors.
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
• Good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to independently handle design projects from concept to commissioning.
