Job summary

Peoplefy Infosolutions in India is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of shell rolling, rerolling and long seam welding experience to join our fabrication team in Mangalore. You will ensure shells are ready for fabrication, plan throughputs and coordinate with preparatory shops.

The role involves adherence to codes, process optimization, and on-time delivery while supervising shop-floor activities, coordinating with quality and engineering teams, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• UpToDate knowledge of international codes/standards like ASME, API/EN/TEMA/ASTM.
• Experience with shell rolling, rerolling and long seam welding.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily throughput for Preparatory shop to feed rolled shells to Equipment Manufacturing plant requirements.
• Manage all shell plate rolling, rerolling and delivery in applicable specifications, codes and standards.
• Control and monitor rolling machines throughput and rolled shells readiness and documentation to meet scope and customer specs.
• Set and achieve KPIs for Shell Rolling shop objectives and ensure adherence to internal procedures and approvals.
• Optimize processes for Rolling Cell per customer specs and project QA/Schedule.

Job Descriptions

1. Clear Understanding and management of Plate Rolling, Long Seam welding, NDT of seam and

rerolling of shells and readiness of shells for Fabrication

3. Utilizing Rolling machine operation and shell manufacturing techniques to optimize equipment

manufacturing

4. Detailed planning to coordinate Preparatory, transportation, and Kitting, with minimizing delays.

5. Close collaboration among engineering, fabrication, and Quality teams to ensure Equipments

meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Role Requirements

1. UpToDate Knowledge and experience in Internationals codes / standards like ASME ,API/EN/TEMA/ASTM

and in Rolling of shells and Long Seam welding, etc.

2. Very good Social and Communication skills along with attitude of Customer Orientation.

1. Manage daily throughput for Preparatory shop to feed Rooled Shells to Equipment Manufacturing plant requirements and provide comprehensive inputs on time.

2. Manage all type of Shell plate rolling, Rerolling and delivery in applicable specifications, codes, standards, regulatory requirements ensuring deliverable's within project schedules.

3. Control and monitoring Rolling Machines throughput and Rolled shells reediness & documentation complying to scope, customer specifications, design codes requirements. Also to ensure first time right inputs to

Equipment Fabrication shops

4. Set and achieve KPI's in line with Shell Rolling shop objectives for Equipment Manufacturing plant. Ensure teams adherence to Internal procedures/ processes , timely documentation and approvals from Inspection

5. Ensure optimize processes for Rolling Cell as per customer specifications and quality assurance as per project QAP and Schedule.

Primary Skills (Must Have)

• The person will be responsible for Shell Rolling, Re-rolling and Long Seam Welding activities in the preparatory shop, ensuring ready-to-fabricate shells are delivered on time and as per drawing, quality, code and customer requirements.
• Target candidates from Service Department / Final Assembly backgrounds in relevant companies.
• Experience with cutting machines, rolling machines and CNC cutting is required.
• Strong shop-floor supervision and heavy fabrication experience preferred.
• Exposure to hydro testing / pressure testing is preferred.
• Godrej Process Equipment Division identified as a relevant target company/background.
