Senior Engineer- Production

Job summary

ZF India in Pune is seeking an experienced manufacturing supervisor to lead shift operations, supervise operators, plan manpower, and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.

You will drive lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, TPM), monitor KPIs (OEE, downtime, productivity), coordinate with maintenance, quality, logistics, and management, and report on production performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-8 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in team management and shop-floor operations.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and Continuous Improvement practices

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Manpower Planning: Supervising operators and technicians, managing attendance, discipline, and performance.
• Production Planning Scheduling: Ensuring production targets are met daily, weekly, and monthly; allocating manpower and resources.
• Problem-Solving Decision-Making: Identifying bottlenecks and taking corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Communication Skills: Coordinating with production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and management teams; conducting shift handovers and meetings.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment; basic troubleshooting of issues.
• Performance Monitoring: Tracking KPIs such as OEE, productivity, rejection rate, and downtime; preparing production reports and analysis.
