Job summary

Linde India Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer - Planning & Scheduling to lead project controls for EPC and capital projects in Kolkata, India. The role covers planning, scheduling, cost management, forecasting, risk assessment, and performance reporting to ensure delivery within baselines.

You will coordinate with PMs, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, and drive recovery strategies while delivering accurate forecasts and management information for informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline required.
• 6–12 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls.
• SAP knowledge is preferred and large-scale projects experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed baseline project schedules for all phases, milestones and deliverables.
• Monitor progress against schedules, track variances and implement corrective actions.
• Perform critical path analysis, assess schedule risks and recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement and Construction for seamless execution.
• Plan and optimize manpower, equipment, and materials to meet milestones.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and dashboards.

Making an impact. What will you do?

• In this role, you will develop, maintain, and manage detailed baseline project schedules covering all phases, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with project objectives and execution plans
• Additionally, you will monitor project progress against approved schedules, identify variances, track performance metrics, and implement timely corrective actions to achieve planned targets
• Furthermore, you will perform critical path analysis, evaluate schedule risks and delays, assess their impact on project timelines, and recommend effective recovery and mitigation strategies
• Meanwhile, you will coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution, schedule integration, and effective communication across all project functions
• Consequently, you will plan and optimize the utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support project requirements and milestone achievement
• Moreover, you will manage schedule updates and scope changes, evaluate their impact on project timelines and deliverables, and maintain accurate planning records in compliance with organizational standards and best practices
• Finally, you will prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, forecasts, dashboards, and performance updates while supporting project controls and cost management activities to ensure successful project delivery

Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes?

• You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, along with 6 to 12 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls
• SAP knowledge is preferred
• Experience in large-scale projects (construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, etc.) is required
