Job summary

Kan Biosys Pvt. Ltd. in Pirangut, Pune invites a Senior Engineer-Packaging to lead packaging operations, optimize line performance, and supervise manpower while ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance. This role demands hands-on line management experience in a chemical manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will drive OEE improvements, implement Lean, mentor operators, and coordinate with QA, Maintenance, and Production teams to meet daily targets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• : BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• : 5–6 years experience in packaging operations in Chemical, Biotechnology, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, or Process Manufacturing industries.
• : Proven experience in production line management, manpower handling, and team leadership.
• : Knowledge of filling, sealing, labeling, coding, palletizing, and packaging quality systems.
• : Hands-on experience with packaging of liquids, powders, and granules and operating various packaging machines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily packaging activities to meet production schedules.
• Lead and supervise packaging operators, technicians, and contract manpower.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and packaging efficiency.
• Minimize packaging material wastage and operational losses.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.
• Monitor production KPIs and prepare daily MIS reports.
• Maintain packaging records, batch documents, logbooks, and production reports.
• Ensure GMP, ISO, EHS and statutory compliance; investigate deviations and implement CAPA.
• Ensure safe operations across all packaging lines.

Job Summary

Kan Biosys Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer-Packaging to manage packaging operations, production lines, and manpower while ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The candidate should possess strong leadership skills with hands‑on experience in packaging line management within a manufacturing environment.

Packaging Operations

• Plan and execute daily packaging activities to meet production schedules.
• Hands‑on expertise in packaging of liquids, powders, and granules across various pack sizes and packaging formats.
• Strong experience in operating, troubleshooting, and managing manual, semi‑automatic, and fully automated packaging machines used for liquid, powder, and granule packaging.
• Knowledge of packaging process controls, line setup, machine changeovers, and optimization of packaging equipment for different product categories.
• Ensure packaging quality, quantity, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams.

Manpower & Line Handling

• Lead and supervise packaging operators, technicians, and contract manpower.
• Plan manpower deployment across packaging lines based on production priorities.
• Manage line changeovers to minimize downtime and maximize line efficiency.
• Monitor shift‑wise productivity and packaging performance.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and packaging specifications.
• Conduct operator training and skill development programs.

Process & Productivity

• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and packaging efficiency.
• Minimize packaging material wastage and operational losses.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.

Documentation & Compliance

• Promote good housekeeping and adherence to safety standards.

Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• 56 years' experience in packaging operations within Chemical, Biotechnology, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, or Process Manufacturing industries.
• Proven experience in production line management, manpower handling, and team leadership.
• Knowledge of filling, sealing, labeling, coding, palletizing, and packaging quality systems.
